3D printing is a technically complex matter where much depends on the model and the application of the printed model.

The standard nozzle of the printer has a diameter of 0.4mm. This gives an indication of the accuracy. For larger ’engineering’ prints we sometimes use a 0.6mm nozzle. This is faster and therefore cheaper for the customer.

The layer height is 0.20mm by default for a 0.4mm nozzle, but we can go from 0.08mm to 0.28mm at a minimal extra cost on request. For the 0.6mm nozzle this goes from 0.2mm to 0.48mm. For complex objects we also use a variable layer height where the layer height varies. This is done to minimize the visual impact of the layers.

The infill percentage is 15%. This means that internal parts of the model are 15% filled (typically with a grid structure). This is good for most applications, but it is also possible to go for higher percentages (even up to 100% for full infill) for extra strength. This of course comes with a higher cost (more material and takes longer).

Don’t hesitate to contact us for further technical details.
