Parametric design means dimensions and parameters can easily be adjusted β€” ideal if you want variations on the same model later.

Input formats

We can work with various input formats:

  • Technical drawings (PDF, DWG)
  • Existing 3D models (STL, STEP, OBJ) β€” for modifications
  • Sketches, photos or descriptions

Technical drawings

Important advantage: A detailed technical drawing with dimensions and tolerances leads to:

  • Faster design
  • Lower cost
  • More accurate model
  • Fewer revision rounds

No technical drawing? No problem β€” a clear photo with dimensions is sufficient in many cases.

Limitations

To set realistic expectations:

  • Very complex organic shapes (such as faces) take more time and are harder to estimate
  • Extreme precision (< 0.1mm tolerances) depends on the printer and material
  • Reverse engineering without technical drawings or reference measurements is more complex and costly
